One of the ideas in Sierra de Vaca is to slow down perception as to what is going on.
Firstly, it looks like a lot of texture and then the realisation that some of the lumpy bits are in fact animals in a landscape, and at that moment the viewer is suddenly airborne looking down. Later, on inspection only two of the bulls are real [in the sense of being three dimensional models] and the rest are illusions.
